About Dr. Zikos

With his advanced training in medical eye care and modern vision corrective solutions, George A. Zikos, OD, MS, can help patients at Eye Associates of New York with minor to complex eye ailments and vision correction. Dr. Zikos cares for patients throughout the Midtown East, New York City area.

A native of Greece, Dr. Zikos worked as a licensed optician early on in his career. He co-founded his family’s optical office — located in the heart of Athens’ Kolonaki Square — with his father, who was a pioneer in contact lenses in Greece. Dr. Zikos then relocated to the United States to continue his education and work in patient care.

After completing his undergraduate studies from the City University of New York, Dr. Zikos finished his master’s degree in vision science from the State University of New York (SUNY). He went on to earn his doctor of optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Zikos also served as an adjunct faculty member for the institutions he attended.

An established researcher, Dr. Zikos has published and presented numerous scientific and clinical studies focused on eye care and vision. He has special interests in comprehensive primary care eye exams, medical treatment of ocular diseases, and correcting visual pathology. Dr. Zikos is even known for providing specialty contact lenses for patients who have chronic dry eye, keratoconus, or other conditions that generally make contacts uncomfortable.
