Eye Associates of New York has Reopened!

We are pleased to announce our office is now open for both routine and medical eye care in person. We will continue to offer telehealth appointments where appropriate.

At Eye Associates of New York we have always made cleanliness and infection control a priority between patients. In the current climate we have enhanced our cleaning procedures, to reduce risk of coronavirus spread, even further and have implemented additional safety protocols based on CDC and professional association guidelines. We thank you for taking the time to read through our new protocols below:

  • Once you book an appointment, our staff will email you office intake forms for you to complete. Please complete these as soon as possible so we may verify insurance information and ensure everything is in place for your visit. This will help minimize the time you spend at the front desk and eliminates in-office paperwork.

  • The day prior to your appointment you will receive an email containing a copy of current office protocols and a screening questionnaire. You MUST complete and e-sign this before arriving at the office.

  • We kindly ask that you arrive at the office unaccompanied in order to control the number of people in the office at any given time. If you require assistance from a friend or family member, please let us know in advance so that we can plan accordingly. All minors will be expected to arrive with ONE parent/guardian.

  • Anyone entering the office is required to wear a face mask/covering and must keep it on at all times. Gloves are NOT permitted in our office. If you choose to come to the office wearing gloves, you will be asked to discard them upon entry. If you do not wish to wear a face mask, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment for a time that masks are no longer considered necessary.

  • After arriving at the office a technician will check your temperature with a non-contact thermometer. If your temperature is 100.4°F or higher, your appointment will be rescheduled to another day. Staff temperatures are also monitored daily.

  • Please be conscious of maintaining social distancing if other patients are present.

  • Office staff will be wearing masks and other PPE as necessary. You will find shields and barriers have been installed at the front desk and on various equipment throughout the office, as well as air filtration systems in the exam rooms.

  • Our optical will operate differently. You may be asked to have a seat and allow our opticians to bring frames to you to try. All frames will be sanitized after being handled. An appointment will need to be scheduled to pick up glasses and/or for any adjustments.

  • We may need to modify your eye exam procedures, at the doctor’s discretion, in order to minimize your time in the office.

Finally, as we are allowing more time between our appointments and reducing our patient schedule, appointment timing is critical. Please be sure to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to your appointment. Also, if you are late you may be asked to reschedule to ensure appropriate spacing. Please remember, we require 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our office and are committed to your safety and that of our staff. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff or doctors.

Sincerely,
Dr. Hanish Patel, Dr. J. Rocco Robilotto, Dr. Gitta Rott, Dr. George Zikos, and staff.
