COVID-19 UPDATE #1

Our providers at Eye Associates of New York are closely monitoring the developments of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) via the NYC Department of Health, World Health Organization (WHO), and U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

The immediate health risk to the general U.S. public is still currently low according to the CDC, and it is important for all of us to stay calm, rational, and well-informed. Our office remains open and appointments are available for those that would like to be seen for both routine and medical eye issues.

In addition to our routine disinfection procedures we have increased the frequency of cleaning common surfaces/door handles and other higher traffic areas of the office.

However, we kindly request if you are experiencing mild cold or flu-like symptoms such as fatigue, runny nose, and cough, to please remain home and refrain from visiting our office as a precaution to prevent further transmission to others. Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule your appointment.

If you are experiencing more severe flu-like symptoms such as high fever (>101 degrees) in addition to symptoms of respiratory illness (cough, shortness of breath), and have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19, or have recently traveled to a country with a Level 2 or 3 Travel Notice, please contact the NYC Department of Health hotline at 1-866-692-3641 as soon as possible.

Our goal is always to keep our entire community healthy and informed. To protect yourself and others, please continue to use best hygienic practices such as regular & thorough hand-washing and cover your face when you cough or sneeze.

As always, thank you for trusting us with your eyecare needs and we look forward to seeing you soon.
